Writer, artist, programmer ... with penchant for problem-solving and a passion for design, organization and streamlined, clean code. Currently in Atlanta, I'm a full-stack developer trained in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, ReactJS, Node.js) with an emphasis on RESTful architecture.
Focusing on ReactJS (Redux, MobX, Hooks, GraphQL), as well as tried and true vanilla JavaScript. I've touched on Angular 2+ for particular projects, and I'm looking forward to an upcoming deep dive into Vue.
Back-end skill-set focuses on Node.js, Python (Django), MySQL, NoSQL (MongoDB), and PostgreSQL. Also familiar with the web server Mongoose and the cloud platform Heroku.
Familiar with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, as well as Sketch and Figma. I'm also well-versed in design properties, color theory, and responsive web design. Further, I have a strong foundation in visual arts including line-drawing, photography, and printmaking.
Formally worked in management and Quality Auditing. As a result, I'm comfortable taking the lead and helping others solve problems. I also value early starts with good caffeine, finding the flow state, and solving my own blockers. Exceptional organization is literally fun for me. I'm also an Excel ninja.... That's right. Spreadsheets.
Full-stack with all the bells and whistles. Familiar with testing (Jest, Enzyme, Snapshot). I'm also skilled in version control (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira) as well as tools such as Postman. Professionally, I have been integral in the implementation of the Customer Portal for a company specializing in BI Analytics, as well as the design and development of online banking apps for a large financial firm.
I have proven comprehension of interface ergonomics, as well as an intuition for the psychology of user experience. Further, I understand the importance of a design first approach, and how the smallest details can make or break how a project is received.
I've written formal proposals at the request of a company board member, and did copywriting for said company's environmental initiative literature. I once worked as a topic writer for a knowledge exchange site, and have published short fiction in the small-press publications Down In the Dirt and The Ultimate Writer.
